14th April 2023

ENGLISH HERITAGE WEEK AT OPTIONS BARTON

English subject lead at Options Barton, Laura Clark, wanted to say a special thanks to her colleagues for going above and beyond to make learning engaging and fun for their wonderful students. “One of our Spring Term topics was ‘English Heritage’ where the students were learning about the life and work of William Shakespeare, with a specific focus on Macbeth.

“The team leading lessons really embraced the themes within Macbeth and used role play to bring the plot to life.  It was a pleasure to see our students engaged in experiential learning such as writing with handmade quills and making slime in cauldrons, as the team dressed as witches and read key quotes from the play.”

“Another highlight was when our Assistant Headteacher, Eddy Wharton, dressed as William Shakespeare and visited all the classes to observe and praise their work.  Many thanks for making this topic so enjoyable and memorable for everyone.”
